Thinking about tomorrow

If there's one thing I learned over the past few years, it's the fact that one would constantly have to think about tomorrow.

It doesn't matter how discouraged you feel, or how difficult it would be to go through your days -- ultimately, you'll still have to go back and do the right thing. It's something that's more difficult to do than it may seem. It is an unfortunate reality, that the temptation of responding to emotions instead of rationale is at times extremely high.

I think a person shouldn't be afraid of doing the right thing. It shouldn't matter if a mistake was made in the past, a person should always try to make the best out of his present situation. To choose the course of action that will bring the best benefit in the long run. To choose the course of action that results in the least damage. On countless occasions, it's that one thought alone that keeps me going.

Sometimes, though, I'd love to just stop -- for a few minutes. Stop and think about today instead of tomorrow. The present, instead of the future. It would be nice to take the moment to appreciate and enjoy the small things that are currently in my life. Because I don't know when I'll lose it all.

But it's difficult.
